House
in the Redwoods
Mendocino County, California

kit - dinning - living Rm
Forest seen from our windows
What is being offered is unique and
not to be found anywhere for its isolation, beauty of its natural,
mountain forest scenes, privacy, and a magnificent river to swim in that
goes through the middle of the property.
It is a place for a family or
couples and friends to experience quality time together without
distractions and become a part of nature. A learning
experience especially if you choose to take the free tour of the ranch
and the forest on "Little Buddy".
House in the Redwoods
is a private, three bed room house, single bath, located on a beautiful 400 acre
mountain forest ranch at the end of the road with a mile of the wild and scenic Noyo River running through it.
We are located halfway between Willits
and Fort Bragg. We're far away from people and cars; deer and other
wildlife walk around free and unafraid. You'll find pristine mountain air
to breathe, as well as clean spring water to drink, soothing sounds, and stars
bright enough to touch.
We are located half way between Willits and Fort Bragg. Access is
year around, 10 miles off hiway,
on a gravel logging road, 1 1/2 hr drive to the coast.
The house being offered was our own home for 10 years. It has a lot of glass and opens onto a deck overlooking a creek. The home makes you feel as if you are living outdoors in the middle
of the forest.
Although it is rustic in character it has all of the basic creature comforts. The house is completely set up for
house keeping.
Blankets, pillows and comforters are provided. Bring your own food, sleeping bags or sheets, towels and personal gear. Please include your flashlights even though gas and electric lights are available.

If
you like to get out in nature, but keep some of the amenities of home,
this is the place! ! have been there 7 times, and I never tire of
going back. Enjoy the 3 hiking trails, the swimming holes, sitting
by the most beautiful river I have ever seen, reading, cooking, and
enjoying company with friends and /or family. Charles and Vanna Rae
are inspirational in their lifestyle and values, working to bring back the
majesty of old-growth redwood forests!

The house and the
cabin are rustic and artistic. There are echoes of Charles'
and Vanna Rae's artistic style everywhere on the trails, at the swimming
hole. Wonderful solitude and communion with old beings - the trees
and younger beings - Charles and Vanna Rae are delightful.

Charles and Vanna Rae:
Our family is very interested in staying at your house again.
We have such fond memories and when given a choice, everyone wants to
vacation there again. There will be 5 of us and we would like to
stay during the week of April 10. We also have some wonderful
pictures to share from our last visit. Since this is the week
of spring break you may not have an opening, but we have some more
dates this summer we can come for a shorter visit.
From our
guest registry:
I would be a "fool" to
never visit again. This place is truly a slice of heaven on
earth. Steve
It is an escape for one's mind, a
treasure for one's eyes, nose and touch, and a simple life for one's
body. This place creates a pause in my life from the reality I have
created at home. It creates the time to enjoy, touch, talk and just
be with the one I shared this experience with, the one I love,
Jeanne
You have such a magical place here
in the redwoods. Our stay has been sheer pleasure. The
personality character, and spirit you have left on every part of this
fantastic property has made our visit unique. Each day has brought
us new places to explore and appreciate, all with an unmistakable
imprint of your creativity, humor, and resourcefulness and you love for
the land. We will not soon forget the peacefulness and beauty of
this place. for both of us it brings back memories of growing up in
the mountains of North Carolina and the forests of Georgia which we have
lost touch with, living most of our adult lives in cities. Thanks for
sharing your home with us. We've been touched by your generosity and
spirit and leave with a longing to return again some day! April and Joe
Enjoyed our visit. We marvel
at the scxenery. Loved the silence as intensly as anyone would enjoy
music. It wasn't long enourgh. Plan to come back.
